“There is a good team culture.”
The reputation and opportunity to specialise in Landed Estates again which I had not done since relocating to Devon in 2006.
I oversee the running of the Landed Estates team. We are a team of 10 including Andrew Richards who leaves me to run the team as most of his time is spent managing the firm.
As a team we are multi-disciplined dealing with accounts and tax compliance for a range of entities (sole traders, partnerships, companies, trusts) as well as high end tax advisory work.
It is friendly and there are opportunities to socialise if you want to. The partners also make time for you.
Hard working but there is flexibility. There is a good team culture.
I joined in 2011 as a manager and was promoted to director in April 2018.
I feel I still need to achieve ‘it’ whatever it is.
By Andrew Richards, all the partners and my team (who are always checking how I am!). We are also supported by central services (IT, People Team and Marketing) so it’s important we work well across services.
Hard work and having something about you (good communicator with staff, partnership, clients and professional contacts etc).
Go for it – you won’t regret it.
Hard work, Enjoyable, Satisfying.
A sunny Cornwall beach with not too many people on it (so down the far end).
I don’t know about my favourite album but my favourite film would be Love Actually. I watch it each year and always spot something I’ve not noticed before.
Never stop being curious, always ask questions, explore the unknown and try new things.
A kettle! Always need a cuppa.
With family. I have two girls, 11 and 13, who are very sporty and musical so a lot of time is spent doing mum’s taxi service and on the side line of hockey and rugby games. If I had time I would take up art again (encaustic – using melted wax to create pictures).
To sew really well so I can quickly make an outfit.
