“From day one PKF Francis Clark have encouraged me to take ownership of my career and to take it as far as I want.”

  • What attracted you to PKF Francis Clark?

Fresh out of A levels, I was indecisive as to whether I should pursue the university route for further studies or dive straight into the world of work. The firm provided the opportunity to do both and I’m so pleased to look back on how far I’ve come since joining 8 years ago.

From day one Francis Clark Financial Planning have encouraged me to take ownership of my career and to take it as far as I want. The firm support my studies toward professional qualifications and we continuously review where I am now and what my options and ambitions for the future are.

  • Tell us about your role and what you get involved in

I work with clients face to face helping them make more informed decisions around their personal finances and building a plan for their future, wherever they are on life’s journey.

My role is quite varied as we all have different circumstances and aspirations in life. Most of my clients are settled into their retirements and giving further thought to reducing an inheritance tax liability or planning for the possibility of long-term care costs in later life.

  • Tell us about your career path since joining the firm and your ambitions for the future

I joined Francis Clark Financial Planning in October 2013 as a Junior Client Liaison, providing administrative support to our Financial Planners in the Torquay office.

In November 2016, I became a Financial Planning Technician, providing technical support to our Financial Planners firm wide. The practical experience has helped my studies in completing the Diploma in Financial Planning.

In January 2020 I had the opportunity to move into my current role as a Financial Planner which I find very rewarding. My ambition is to become a Chartered Financial Planner and I aim to complete the Advanced qualification within the next year or two.

  • How are you supported in your role?

PKF Francis Clark Financial Planning cover the cost of your studies, exams and provide for study leave. My colleagues are always happy to give their time when I have any queries.

A bit more about me

  • How do you spend your free time?

I am very involved with Brixham Gig Rowing Club – I row myself and coach other crews. Nothing beats being out on the water and watching the sun go down, especially if the dolphins and seals come to join us!
