“PKF Francis Clark is a fantastic firm to work for because it values the health, happiness and careers of its employees.”
I chose PKF Francis Clark because they have the best interest of their employees at heart. They want you to succeed. They take great care of their employees, always wanting them to perform at their very best, enabling them to progress their career.
The training culture embedded into the firm means I will be supported throughout the duration of my career with PKF Francis Clark. The AAT/ ATT and ACA/ACCA qualifications are all both widely recognised and highly respected.
I am studying my AAT while also working as a full-time Accounts Assistant in the Business Services Department in Taunton. In the office I can be doing anything from covering reception, answering the telephone and drafting letters, to preparing tax returns, bookkeeping, working in payroll and compiling accounts for clients.
While I study my AAT I spend one day a week out of work interacting with other people my age whilst studying. I work independently through virtual learning, online presentations and practice assessments towards modular exams. The thing I value the most about my studies is that I am completely in control of my own learning and go at a pace I am most comfortable with.
The thing I value the most about working at PKF Francis Clark is that two days in the office are never the same. I am constantly learning and developing my skills. I am always kept on my toes and always problem solving which means I never get bored. The people you work around really do help to make your job more enjoyable too and the team here at PKF Francis Clark are so lovely and welcoming! PKF Francis Clark also promote a healthy work-life balance which is really great if you have a busy social life!
PKF Francis Clark is a fantastic firm to work for because it values the health, happiness and careers of their employees. The staff here at PKF Francis Clark always feel incredibly rewarded and hard work never goes unnoticed.
Since joining PKF Francis Clark in October, I have settled in well to the firm and have started my AAT studies. I am currently working in the Business Services department but am looking forward to exploring other departments the firm has to offer. In the future I would like to complete my AAT and then go on to my ACA qualification. At the moment I feel like I have only scratched the surface with the variety of roles at PKF Francis Clark and so I would like to explore these other options and find exactly what I enjoy most. PKF Francis Clark give you a lot of room to grow, explore and develop into a role that suits you best.
My biggest achievements since working at PKF Francis Clark are definitely my exam successes – I hope these will continue throughout my further studies!
I am supported in my role by two main figures. The first is my line manager who supports me in my work within the office. She is really helpful and happy to answer any questions I may have for her. I also have a personal tutor who supports me in my studies. My tutor helps me in my preparation towards exams and is always available to give feedback on my work.
To be successful at PKF Francis Clark you must be hard working, dedicated and always willing to go the extra mile. Hard work is always recognised and rewarded. I would also say it is important to embrace change, as this often can assist in expanding your knowledge and skillset!
Don’t hold back! PKF Francis Clark are a fantastic firm to work for and you won’t regret it. Also, explore the firm’s values and see if they fall in line with your own. It is important to harmonize the two.
Challenging, Collaborative, Rewarding.
I would choose Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix – I hope they might offer to cook too!
My ultimate travel destination is Svalbard.
If I could gift anybody a book it would be Pride and Prejudice – a classic novel but popular for reason!
The Greatest Showman sound track – such a good film!
Never make an important decision on an empty stomach!
My waterproof shower speaker so I can sing as loud as I like in the shower and still not hear my own voice!
A perfect day would start by waking up late by the seaside, enjoying a good breakfast. Then making my way down to the sand to soak up the sunshine, dip in the sea and read a good book. Finishing off the day with a glass of red wine whilst the sun goes down!
The most important thing I have learned in the last year is that if you want something you need to work hard to go after it! This might mean making sacrifices but it will be worth it in the end.
I enjoy spending my free time training in the gym and taking my dog for long (hilly!) walks over the Quantocks. I also love being experimental in the kitchen and trying new recipes whenever I can. I enjoy visiting new places and exploring at every given opportunity. However I like to spend most of my free time enjoying the company of family and friends, especially my niece. I will also never say no to a spot of retail therapy!
I would love to learn sign language. I think it would be a very useful skill!
